6.8/10

I had a pleasant stay at Crowne Plaza Reading with its comfortable rooms and stunning river views. The staff, especially Eva, were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome. Although the breakfast selection was good, I found the egg dish quite disappointing. a letdown for a hotel of this caliber.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and had a lovely view over the river, which I truly appreciated. However, I found the room a bit cold despite adjusting the heating.
Service
8.0
The staff provided really good service. Eva greeted me warmly and made the check-in process smooth and personal. Though there were minor hiccups, like a lack of information on the Club Lounge, the overall service was commendable.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, right by the Thames. It was easy to enjoy walks along the river, which added to the charm of my stay. Plus, it was conveniently close to local attractions.
Dining
6.0
While the atmosphere in the Club Lounge was nice, the breakfast options could use improvement. The eggs were nearly inedible, and there were cleanliness issues around the breakfast area. it detracted from an otherwise good experience.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had good amenities, including a fitness center and spa services. However, the steam room was out of order during my visit, which was disappointing.

5.0/10

I enjoyed the picturesque location by the River Thames, but my overall experience was marred by the service inconsistencies and cleanliness issues I encountered. Though there were friendly staff members, my room's state left much to be desired. Overall, it's a mixed bag.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean but felt quite dated, with an uncomfortable decor that didn't meet my expectations for a four-star hotel. The size was adequate, but I wished for something a bit more modern.
Service
6.0
While some staff were friendly and attentive, my overall experience at check-in was less than ideal, as I faced delays and a lack of assistance when I had issues.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location on the banks of the Thames was truly fantastic, providing lovely river walks and easy access to attractions, enhancing my stay considerably.
Dining
7.0
I found the breakfast buffet to offer a good selection, although certain items, like the bacon, didn't meet my expectations. Dining with a river view was a nice touch, though.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area and gym facilities were well-maintained and offered a nice spot for relaxation. However, I was disappointed with the limitations on pool hours during my stay.

5.2/10

My recent stay at Crowne Plaza Reading was mostly positive, highlighted by the comfortable beds and the stunning river views. However, I did notice the decor seemed a bit dated and some facilities, like the lounge service, could use better management. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would consider repeating, especially with the good location near the river.

Rooms
7.0
The room itself was comfortable, but I found the decor somewhat tired and in need of a refresh. However, my bed was quite cozy, promoting a good night's sleep.
Service
8.0
The staff were friendly and attentive. I was particularly impressed by Reece, who went out of his way to make our group feel welcomed and even helped us with dining arrangements.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a fantastic location right by the river, which I loved. It’s a bit out from the main city center, but the riverside setting makes up for it.
Dining
6.0
While the in-house restaurant had a nice selection, I did find the breakfast buffet a tad pricey and lacking variety compared to other places I’ve been. I also faced some delays with service during peak hours.
Facilities
7.0
I didn’t get to use the pool or gym, but I did see they looked well-maintained, and I appreciated the free parking available on-site.

5.6/10

My stay at Crowne Plaza Reading was mostly enjoyable, thanks to its beautiful river views and comfortable accommodations. However, I did encounter issues with noise from the neighboring rooms, which was quite disruptive. Overall, the friendly staff and excellent dining options made up for some of the shortcomings.

Rooms
7.0
The river view room I chose was good, particularly when sipping my coffee on the balcony. However, noise insulation was lacking; I was disturbed by sounds from outside my room. Otherwise, the decor and comfort were satisfactory.
Service
9.0
The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive throughout my stay, shining particularly in the dining area. Their kindness certainly contributed to a positive experience overall.
Location
7.0
Located right by the Thames, the hotel offered lovely views and proximity to local attractions. That said, options nearby were somewhat limited, making transportation necessary for most outings.
Dining
8.0
The dinner I had in the bar exceeded my expectations with fresh and tasty options. Breakfast was also substantial, featuring good quality bacon and sausages which provided a nice start to the day.
Facilities
6.0
While I enjoyed my time in the facilities, I was disappointed to learn the spa was booked far in advance. Nonetheless, the pool area appeared nice and well-maintained.

7.2/10

I had a mixed experience at Crowne Plaza Reading during my stay. On one hand, the location by the Thames offered beautiful views and the staff were generally friendly and accommodating. On the other hand, I faced several issues with my room, including cleanliness and issues with amenities, which overshadowed some of the positives. Given the problems I encountered, I would consider staying again only if specific improvements are made.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in had a nice river view but felt a bit dated. I found some cleanliness issues, which was disappointing. The shower had fluctuating water temperatures, making it frustrating to use.
Service
5.0
Service was generally polite, but I experienced some inefficiencies during check-in and when addressing my room concerns. Staff at the restaurant were friendly, but I felt more could have been done to ensure a smooth experience.
Location
8.0
The location is fantastic, with lovely walks along the Thames and proximity to the town center. It really added charm to my stay and made for enjoyable exploration.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were average. I ordered room service which was expensive for what I received, and the breakfast lacked some variety and freshness. However, the dinner service was pleasant thanks to the attentive staff.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel has a decent selection of facilities, including a gym and pool, though I didn't have time to use them. The communal areas looked nice but could use some updating.
